The Spare Wheel Extension Bracket is mounted directly onto your spare wheel and provides mounting points to the rear of the vehicle. What’s more, it offers adjustable capabilities, enabling you to customize it to your preference or accommodate wider wheels. With a minimum distance of 93mm(stock wheels) and a maximum distance of 130mm, you have the flexibility to find the perfect fit for your wheel.

Note: Please ensure the supplied Allen key is kept with the vehicle at all times. In the event that you need to remove the spare wheel, you will require this tool. The removal process is simply the reverse of the installation steps. For convenience, it is also recommended to keep a copy of the installation guide in the vehicle in case you need to refer to it.

Handy for sure. Had a few leaks in hot weather which was potentially worrying being so close to the exhaust. I was advised not to over fill the jerry can and to have the air-value lose to cater for fuel expansion/air to be released in hot weather. Looks attractive enough and has been very useful not having to put it on the roof or in the car. Easy to get off and refill. Biggest issue is getting to the spare tyre in times of need! NOT EASY AT ALL and I have not found any instructions, videos or suggestions which has been disappointing.

Totally impractical to take it off if you are out bush or even just roadside.
Returns policy says I am unable to return it as its out of the box.Does as described, but as others have mentioned, getting to the spare wheel is a challenge, especially when out on the road. There’s no direct way to get to the 3 wheel nuts. The most direct way seems to be taking out the four smaller black hex bolts holding the mounting plate to the carrier, which then gives you access to the 3 wheel nuts. You’ll then have to carefully lift the spare wheel out and avoid hitting it on the extended wheel carrier assembly.
Even if you have a ratchet with a deep socket there’s just not enough room to squeeze it in. Don’t think it’s something that can be easily redesigned, given how everything is secured by those three wheel nuts. Something to think about if you have wide tyres.
Poor design for spare removal. Bolts have no spring washers on back plate but also not good idea to put loctite as maybe easier to remove to access spare. Jerry can moulding had half sentence written, looks daft.
Affordable and great quality, it does make it harder to access the spare tyre, well duhhh…. it is not that hard… I left all the supplied allen keys together with the factory jack so I can easily remove them when I needed to use the spare wheel, just reverse the steps during installation.
Really impressed with the JimnyHype Jerry Can Spare Wheel Carrier Combo. The packaging was exceptionally professional, with great branding and attention to detail, which gave a fantastic first impression.
Delivery was quick, and installation was fairly straightforward with no major issues. The overall quality of the product feels very good and it looks great on the Jimny.
I haven’t had a chance to properly test it out on the road or off-road yet, but I’m looking forward to putting it through its paces and seeing how it performs. So far, very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend it.

To remove the Jerry Can Spare Wheel Carrier and gain access to your spare wheel, you only need to remove three bolts in the bracket, which allows you to remove the parts blocking access. If you encounter any difficulties with this, please let us know we’re happy to assist.
