Changes to be made on Ceiling and Rear Window Rack
As Suzuki Jimny is a small car with limited storage, finding storage solution has become an important element for Jimny owners. JimnyHype Rear Seats Ceiling Storage Rack and Rear Window Molle Panel uses the most underutilised space in the vehicle to provide more storage for small light weight items with easier access like tools, small camping equipment or daily use items such as blanket, jackets, tissue boxes.
The rack and panel are designed for easy installation and avoids any drilling to the vehicle, it is mounted on to the rear grab handles to the factory holes. The kit comes with all bolts, nuts and basic hand tools like Allen key that are required for the installation.
The Ceiling Storage Rack is designed with a lower side for easy access and higher side for prevent items from falling off the rack. It is your option to decide which side is facing the front or back of the car. If you regularly access goods from the front, it is recommended to face the lower side to the front. The Molle Panel is mounted to the rear grab handle and the factory holes located below the rear window.
We are passionate with Suzuki Jimny ourselves, we try our best to source products which is compactable and draws best value for the rig. However, the disadvantage of these products is not to be used when there is active rear passenger, due to the installation of the attachment bracket to the rear grab handle will inhibit the deployment of the rear side head air bags.
We get a lot of feedback from our customers, they love our products, however they are concern about the effectiveness of the rear airbags because they occasionally have passengers in the rear seats. We had further investigation to the airbag location. The current Rear Seats Ceiling Storage Rack and Rear Window Molle Panel that we are providing is blocking the deployment of the rear airbags.
From Crash Test of Suzuki Jimny 2018 by Euro NCAP, the rear side head air bags are deployed just under the rear grab handle. The air bags provide a barrier which can to prevent ejection from the vehicle and be able to keep out intrusions debris during the crash such as metal, broken glass which may cause cutting down on injuries such as broken bones, cuts and bruises.
